Late summer budding sage, sage leaves and goldenrod were layered together, pressed into clay and transformed through lost wax casting into sterling silver.
Rather than preserving each plant as a distinct specimen, the botanicals overlap and mingle around the band, creating an intricate surface that shifts between recognizable leaves and stems and more abstract impressions.
Oxidation settles deeply into the recesses, emphasizing every ridge, line and mark left behind by the original plants. Because the botanical texture continues around the ring, a different portion of the meadow comes into view as the piece moves on your hand.
Dense, tactile and full of detail, this ring captures not a single botanical, but the beautiful complexity of plants growing together in the wild.
