Each year around this time, I’ve been compelled to discount my handmade jewelry even though it never feels quite right. So this year, I’m taking a different route.
As a small, handmade business owner, my approach to creating jewelry is deeply rooted in craftsmanship, sustainability and intention. I pride myself on the quality and value I offer in every piece and I want to ensure that this commitment remains unwavering.
This is why I've decided not to participate in the traditional Black Friday sales frenzy. It's not because I don't appreciate your support; quite the opposite! I feel that offering steep discounts on my handmade creations would undermine the true value of my work. My margins are modest and I believe discounting compromises the quality and sustainability you've come to expect from me.
Instead, I want to celebrate the holiday season with you in a way that reflects my values. So, throughout the month of November, I've planned something special – a series of exciting jewelry giveaways! 🎁
These giveaways are my way of saying thank you for your incredible support, loyalty and trust. I want to share my creations with you and give back to the community that has made S. Howell Studios what it is today.

For every $100 you spend, you’ll get 1 entry into that week’s giveaway as well as the monthly giveaway.
For example, let’s say on November 6th you order the Grandididierite Stacking Ring you’ve had your eye on and a set of Hammered Stacking Rings to go with it for an order total of $235. You’ll receive 2 entries to the Week 1 Giveaway AND 2 entries to the Month Long Giveaway!
There is no limit to how many entries you receive so if you order during multiple weeks, you’ll be entered into each week’s giveaway. There’s also no cap on how many giveaways you can win so there’s a chance you could win a weekly giveaway and the monthly one or multiple weekly giveaways. Winners will be selected at random using the old school method of drawing a name out of a hat.
As a small, handmade business, I receive a modest amount of orders each month. I expect 50 orders or less this month. I’m being completely transparent to let you know you have a really great chance of winning! This isn’t like a social media or big box store giveaway with hundreds to thousands of entrants.
November 30th is the last day to shop with a chance to win and is also the last day to shop to guarantee delivery in time for Christmas. The winners will be announced and notified at the end of each week and again at the end of the month.
I know you have endless choice when it comes to where you shop this holiday season. If big box store discounts aren’t in alignment with your values and you prefer to invest in handmade instead, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
